It was very good and rape happens in the world every day. Deuce does not like Stalker in that way at all. Period. And does not in the future book(s). The quality of the book was much better than what you are describing. It is meant to be harsh; this takes place in a broken world full of monsters ready to kill without remorse. Of course it is understandable that people who cannot kill are seen to be weak.
If Tegan had not gotten over (or at least hidden in some way) what Stalker did, their team would never have been able to function properly at all.
Also, Stalker is not portrayed later as a "good guy". He did what he did, but unfortunately there would have been no time to worry about the ethical part of it. Ethics are out the window when more then half of the human population has been destroyed/murdered/turned to man-eating monsters. Do you still expect people to worry about what's "right and wrong" when they can't even keep themselves alive?
Overall, I disagree completely with your review. -NAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320393407513365379.post-43457258168205106092012-09-08T18:36:41.008-04:002012-09-08T18:36:41.008-04:00Rape is a touchy subject for me too. It's a horrible, traumatizing thing that should not be used as so irresponsibly.

Smart review, Jaclyn!

New follower :D All thanks to Aa'Ishah who directed me to your wonderful blog XDAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320393407513365379.post-75644770682223813802012-09-07T18:54:36.380-04:002012-09-07T18:54:36.380-04:00Wow. I can normally get through a poorly written book pretty easily but when an antagonistic character (especially when it is a male who has partaken in... unsavory, not-so-consensual activities with a female) is taken and tried to be made the "turned-heroin/pure" character, it kind of kills me. Despite this, I'm quite sure I WILL read the book if not for some of the characters you have described. Once again, a job well done!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03810733033493312003noreply@blogger.com
